Building Information Modeler (BIM) Technician

Leidos is seeking a Building Information Modeler (BIM) Technician to support the Indo-Pacific Logistics and Sustainment Services (ILS2) program in Aiea, Hawaii. This position provides BIM and computer-aided design (CAD) support for facilities, infrastructure, and engineering activities across the Indo-Pacific region. The BIM Technician will develop and maintain accurate 2D drawings and 3D models, support model coordination and quality control, and work with engineers, facilities personnel, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure digital design products accurately support project requirements.

The Building Information Modeler (BIM) Technician is responsible for developing, maintaining, and coordinating BIM models and CAD documentation in support of facilities and infrastructure projects. The position uses tools such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks to produce and review models and drawings, incorporate design changes and field information, support clash detection and resolution, and maintain project information in accordance with established BIM/CAD standards. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, technically proficient, and comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and maintain accurate 3D BIM models and 2D CAD drawings using Revit, AutoCAD, and related design tools.
• Produce project drawings, layouts, details, schedules, and other BIM/CAD deliverables in accordance with project requirements and established standards.
• Review BIM models and drawings for accuracy, completeness, consistency, constructability, and compliance with applicable BIM/CAD requirements.
• Support model coordination and clash detection using Navisworks or comparable tools and assist project teams in identifying and resolving design conflicts.
• Incorporate design changes, markups, redlines, field observations, and as-built information into BIM models and drawings.
• Assist with project BIM setup, including model organization, file structures, templates, families, libraries, naming conventions, and version control.
• Maintain BIM models, CAD files, associated documentation, and project information in approved collaboration and document management systems.
• Coordinate BIM and CAD information with engineers, architects, facilities personnel, project managers, contractors, vendors, and other multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Support development and implementation of BIM Execution Plans, modeling procedures, workflows, and project specific standards.
• Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews of models and drawings and identify discrepancies or data quality issues for resolution.
• Support site surveys, field verification, and collection of facility and infrastructure information needed to develop or update models and drawings.
• Prepare model-based information, drawings, reports, and visualizations to support project planning, design, construction, facility operations, and sustainment activities.
• Maintain awareness of emerging BIM technologies, tools, and workflows and identify opportunities to improve modeling, coordination, documentation, and project delivery.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of relevant BIM, CAD, drafting, design, or related technical experience; additional education may be considered in lieu of some experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining BIM models and CAD drawings for facilities, buildings, infrastructure, engineering, construction, or related projects.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD and working knowledge of BIM modeling and drafting practices.
• Experience using Navisworks or comparable coordination software for model review, clash detection, or design coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, engineering, construction, and facility drawings, specifications, markups, and related technical documentation.
• Experience applying BIM/CAD standards, project requirements, naming conventions, file management practices, and quality control procedures.
• Strong attention to detail with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet project schedules, and produce accurate deliverables with limited supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, project managers, facilities personnel, and other stakeholders.
• Must be a US Citizen and have ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and other customer/site access requirements applicable to the position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Secret security clearance.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Building Science, Drafting, or a related discipline.
• Autodesk certification in Revit, AutoCAD, or a related BIM discipline.
• Advanced proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.
• Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, ProjectWise, or similar common data environments/document-management platforms.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense, Federal Government, facilities, infrastructure, construction, or geographically dispersed/OCONUS projects.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
