Your role and responsibilities 

In this role, you will be responsible for both the operational excellence of UPS repair activities and the strategic definition of the European repair business model. Beyond managing day-to day workshop operations, this role designs and governs the end-to-end repair framework — including make-or-buy strategy, commercial guidelines, pricing, and process standards — to maximize service quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction across ABB's European UPS service network. 

 

The work model for the role is: hybrid 

 

This role is contributing to the ELSP. Main stakeholders are European LSO service managers, supply chain, product management, and engineering. 

 

You will be mainly accountable for 

• Lead repair operations and drive operational excellence through Lean and continuous improvement methodologies, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality UPS repair services across European locations 

• Define and implement scalable repair business models, pricing frameworks, and commercial processes aligned with European service strategy, including flat-rate pricing and exchange programs 

• Collaborate with European Local Sales Organizations (LSOs), service management, supply chain, product management, and customers to ensure service excellence and resolution of complex escalations 

• Lead, motivate, and develop cross-functional repair center teams while ensuring full compliance with HSE regulations and ABB's core values 

 

Qualifications for the role 

• You have 10+ years of experience in service operations, repair management, or service business development, ideally with a UPS or power electronics background 

• You are highly skilled in UPS systems, repair processes, and power electronics lifecycle management 

• You are passionate about operational excellence, strategic thinking, and leading cross-cultural teams across Europe 

• You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or equivalent vocational technical education 

• You are at ease communicating in English and Italian, other European languages is a plus
