Overview
Position Summary
The Director of Corporate Education serves as the strategic leader responsible for advancing a culture of learning, leadership excellence, and professional growth throughout FirstHealth. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this position is responsible for developing and executing an enterprise-wide learning and leadership development strategy that strengthens organizational capability, increases employee engagement, supports workforce retention, and prepares leaders and employees to meet the evolving demands of healthcare.
This role partners closely with executive leaders, operational leaders, physicians, and Human Resources to ensure that learning and development initiatives are aligned with the organization's mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities. The Director of Corporate Education champions continuous learning by creating innovative programs and experiences that develop current and future leaders, enhance employee performance, and foster a high-performing culture focused on exceptional patient care and service excellence.
The Director is responsible for overseeing leadership development, employee development, organizational learning, learning technologies, onboarding education strategies, succession planning support, and workforce development initiatives across the health system. Through strategic planning, collaboration, and innovation, this leader ensures that FirstHealth invests in the growth and development of its people and maintains a workforce capable of meeting the healthcare needs of the communities it serves.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The Director of Corporate Education develops and leads a comprehensive leadership development strategy designed to prepare leaders at all levels of the organization for success. This includes the creation of leadership academies, management development programs, executive development experiences, mentoring initiatives, and succession planning strategies that build leadership capability and strengthen organizational resilience. The Director collaborates with senior leaders to identify leadership competencies needed for future success and designs programs that improve communication, accountability, emotional intelligence, employee engagement, coaching effectiveness, and change leadership.
A significant focus of the role is the development of employees across all stages of their careers. The Director establishes frameworks and programs that support career growth, professional development, internal advancement, and workforce readiness. By partnering with leaders throughout the organization, the Director identifies critical skill gaps and develops educational solutions that enhance employee effectiveness while supporting organizational goals. These efforts are intended to improve retention, create growth opportunities for employees, and strengthen FirstHealth's position as an employer of choice.
The Director provides strategic oversight for the organization's learning management system and educational infrastructure. This includes ensuring compliance education, annual learning requirements, professional development programs, and required certifications are delivered effectively and efficiently. The Director continually evaluates emerging technologies and innovative educational approaches to improve learning accessibility, engagement, and outcomes across the workforce.
In partnership with Human Resources and operational leadership, the Director supports employee engagement and organizational culture initiatives. The position utilizes employee feedback, engagement survey data, workforce trends, and organizational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and establish development strategies that enhance the employee experience. The Director also serves as a key partner in organizational change initiatives by providing education and leadership support that promotes adoption, adaptability, and sustained success.
The Director collaborates with Talent Acquisition, Human Resources Business Partners, Clinical Education, and operational leaders to ensure learning and development initiatives support workforce planning priorities. This includes supporting onboarding excellence, leadership transitions, internal talent development, and succession planning efforts that prepare employees for future opportunities within FirstHealth.
The position establishes meaningful metrics and performance indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of learning and development initiatives. The Director regularly reports outcomes to executive leadership and uses data-driven insights to refine programs, demonstrate return on investment, and align resources with organizational priorities.

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Education, Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Leadership, or a related field is required.
A Master's degree in Organizational Development, Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Leadership, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
Experience
A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible leadership experience in organizational development, corporate education, talent management, leadership development, workforce development, or a related field is required. Experience designing and implementing enterprise-wide leadership development and employee development programs is strongly preferred. Healthcare experience is preferred.
