Description
University Annual Giving & Stewardship in the Office of Engagement is accepting applications for a Federal Work Study student intern to assist the Direct Marketing team for the 2025-2026 academic school year. This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented student who is interested in gaining hands-on direct marketing and team collaboration experience.
RESPONSIBILITES
Accurately enter vendor expenses from the Direct Marketing Invoice Tracking sheet into the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) to support ROI tracking.
Create CRM mass updates to attribute appeal outreach (email, text, print) for the University of Virginia and affiliated schools and programs.
Record inbound donor inquiries from the University Annual Giving inbox, recording them in a centralized spreadsheet, accurately tracking giving, ID, and routing of requests.
Upload marketing proofs to the Advancement Community Marketing calendar.
Maintain inventory of all items from premium campaigns (socks, keychains, etc.).
Other duties assisting the Direct Marketing team may be assigned, as needed.
Must be Federal Work Study Student Eligible.
$19.50/hour for up to 20 hours a week; a minimum of 10 hours a week.
The University Annual Giving office is in Old Ivy Hall, located at 2420 Old Ivy Road in Charlottesville. Though mostly remote, this is a hybrid role, as there will be times where assistance is needed in the office.

PREFERRED SKILLS
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently in a remote/hybrid environment.
- Professional communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and comfortable learning CRM systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
