Job Summary
Express Care, formerly known as Urgent Care, provides timely, high-quality care for patients seeking treatment for non-emergency medical needs. Our teams care for patients beginning at 6 months of age, treating a wide range of conditions including respiratory illnesses, infections, minor injuries, rashes, and gastrointestinal concerns.Because patients often seek care when they are feeling their worst, our Express Care nurses play an important role in providing not only clinical expertise, but also compassion, reassurance, and support throughout the patient experience.
We are seeking a part-time, 20-hour Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Express Care team located at 104 Endicott Street, Danvers, MA 01923. This position requires an every-other-weekend rotation. Weekday scheduling will vary based on availability and daily staffing needs, with a preference for one 12-hour weekday shift each week. There may also be flexibility to divide the weekday commitment into two 6-hour shifts if preferred.
Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
About the Role
The Registered Nurse provides compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Working collaboratively with providers and clinical team members, the RN supports patient evaluation, treatment, education, and follow-up while ensuring a safe and efficient care environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who enjoys variety, teamwork, and making a meaningful impact through direct patient care in an ambulatory setting.
Key Responsibilities
•Provide direct patient care while maintaining high standards of nursing practice, safety, and quality.
•Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop care plans, and support outpatient procedures.
•Assist providers with clinical procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
•Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, follow-up care, and health management.
•Administer medications, perform IV therapy, obtain blood samples, and provide other nursing interventions as appropriate.
•Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, Medical Assistants, and other members of the care team to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
•Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
•Follow infection prevention protocols and promote a safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
•Support a positive patient experience through compassionate communication and clinical excellence.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical nursing experience required.
- Prior experience in urgent care, emergency department, or ambulatory/outpatient settings strongly preferred.
- Experience with blood draws and IV placement preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and clinical procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and care team members.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.
- Strong clinical judgment, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Commitment to ongoing learning, professional development, and evidence-based nursing practice.
