Description
The Mannes School of Music at the College of Performing Arts seeks a highly motivated student to serve as Mannes Percussion, Student Assistant. We’re seeking an organized, driven, and responsible individual to support percussion-related activities within the Mannes School of Music & Production - Large Ensemble Area. This position reports to the Program and Administration Manager, Mannes School of Music and is an ideal position for students who are interested in a career in orchestral percussion, non-profit, higher education administration, or performing arts production.
This position is open to student applicants with Federal Work Study awards, as well as student applicants without a Federal Work Study award.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Organize Mannes Percussion Equipment
Assist with the management of Percussion equipment
Assist with the management of Percussion Practice Space
Basic Percussion Maintenance
Support the Program and Administration Manager, Mannes School of Music and Large Ensemble as needed
Assist with percussion specific set up and break down for rehearsals
Other additional duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Current Percussion student in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of UG study or MM / PDPL
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Recipient of Federal Work Study award
General Knowledge of Percussion Equipment
Strong Organizational Skills
Strong Interpersonal Skills
WORK MODE
On-Campus Position - Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely. #LI-DNI
SALARY RANGE
Hourly Rate: $17/hour
Hours per Week: 5-10 Hours a Week

Responsibilities:
Manage and organize Mannes percussion equipment and practice spaces while performing routine instrument maintenance. Execute percussion-specific setups and breakdowns for rehearsals while providing support to the Program and Administration Manager and handling additional duties as assigned.
