Who we are looking for
We are seeking an experienced Asset Stewardship Analyst at the Assistant Vice President level to support stewardship activities across the Americas region. A successful candidate will play a key role in analyzing proxy voting matters, conducting issuer engagements, researching emerging governance and other topics, and contributing to the continued development of our stewardship program.
Why this role is important to us
The Asset Stewardship team is responsible for proxy voting and issuer engagement activities on behalf of State Street Investment Management's clients. The team seeks to promote long-term shareholder value through thoughtful stewardship, including proxy voting, engagement with portfolio companies, and generating thought leadership. The team votes at thousands of shareholder meetings annually and engages with hundreds of issuers each year on topics material to a company’s long-term strategy.
What you will be responsible for
As an Asset Stewardship Analyst, you will:
Analyze proxy voting items, including a range of management and shareholder proposals.
Develop well-reasoned vote recommendations supported by independent analysis of a company’s disclosures and practices, in line with State Street Investment Management’s Global Proxy Voting and Engagement Policy.
Support engagements with issuer representatives on financially-material topics related to a company's long-term business strategy.
Stay up to date on research and reporting on governance and business themes to strengthen understanding of particular sectors, markets, and governance trends.
Draft written materials including engagement summaries, vote rationales, responses to client inquiries, internal memos and presentations.
Collaborate with colleagues across investment, research, legal, compliance, operations, and client-facing teams.
Support responses to client inquiries regarding stewardship activities, voting decisions, and engagement outcomes.
Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of stewardship policies, voting guidelines, analytical frameworks, and operational processes.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of relevant experience in asset stewardship, corporate governance, proxy voting, or a related field.
Direct experience analyzing proxy voting matters and engaging with public companies.
Strong understanding of corporate governance principles.
Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across a global team.
Salary Range:
$90,000 - $157,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
