We’re looking for a Subject Matter Expert, Operations to join our ever-evolving Worldwide Disputes Team and help shape the future of global commerce. In this role, you’ll serve as a Subject Matter Expert and Process Leader, driving operational excellence across the end-to-end dispute lifecycle while ensuring compliance with card scheme regulations and industry requirements. Your expertise will help strengthen quality, reduce operational risk, enhance customer outcomes, and empower teams through training, coaching, and continuous improvement. By influencing process effectiveness and knowledge capability across the organization, you’ll play an important role in supporting Global Payments’ mission of delivering secure, innovative, and reliable payment solutions worldwide.
What you'll own
Champion dispute resolution excellence by strengthening team knowledge, ensuring adherence to card scheme regulations, and driving consistent, accurate outcomes that protect clients, cardholders, merchants, and the business.
Lead learning and capability development through impactful training, coaching, and accreditation programs that improve performance, increase quality, and enable teams to confidently navigate complex dispute scenarios.
Drive continuous process improvement by identifying operational gaps, influencing system and workflow enhancements, and implementing solutions that increase efficiency, reduce risk, and improve customer experience.
Shape compliance and operational readiness by evaluating regulatory and card scheme updates, assessing business impact, and ensuring timely adoption of process changes across stakeholders and teams.
Influence team success and business outcomes by providing leadership, mentoring, quality oversight, and subject matter expertise that strengthen performance, support critical operations, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous growth.
What you'll bring
Proven experience in chargebacks, dispute resolution, transaction processing, or card operations, with extensive knowledge of the end-to-end dispute lifecycle across multiple card brands and reason codes.
Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and develop employees, translating complex technical concepts and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance that drives performance improvement.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience assessing operational risks, identifying process improvement opportunities, and implementing solutions that enhance quality and efficiency.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence decisions, manage escalations, and collaborate effectively across multiple functions.
Possess relevant experience in disputes, chargebacks, payments operations, or a related field, with a proven track record of success in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
It's a bonus if you have
Experience leading process improvement, workflow optimization, automation, or operational transformation initiatives within the payments, banking, fintech, or financial services industry.
Working knowledge of multiple card brands, or other card scheme regulations, including experience evaluating rule changes and assessing operational impacts.
Experience supporting business continuity activities, large-scale training programs, system migrations, testing initiatives, or cross-functional operational projects.
