About This Opportunity

This is an exceptional opportunity for a visionary clinical academic to lead the Mayne Academy of Paediatrics and advance the discipline’s contribution to education, research and engagement. Working within UQ’s Medical School, you will shape a collaborative and ambitious environment that supports staff to excel, strengthens the Academy’s international profile, and helps prepare medical students to improve child and adolescent health.

You will provide academic leadership across curriculum, assessment, research and researcher development, working closely with Clinical Schools and Units, the Office of the Director, MD Curriculum & Assessment, and partners across the University. You will also build purposeful relationships with specialist medical colleges, health services, government, hospitals and the community, connecting expertise and diverse perspectives to create meaningful change in paediatrics.

About You

You will also hold a PhD or equivalent in a relevant disciplinary area, or bring an appropriate combination of professional and academic service relevant to the field.

You will bring an outstanding record of academic achievement, including high-impact research, successful researcher supervision, funding, knowledge translation and international engagement. An empathetic and collaborative leader, you will demonstrate excellence in medical education, curriculum and assessment, alongside the ability to build effective teams, develop academic capability, and establish productive relationships with academic, clinical, government, industry and professional partners.
