Patient Support Assistant - Kellogg Evanston Cancer Center - Days

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.38 - $26.65 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Patient Support Assistant  - Oncology
• Location: Kellogg Cancer Center – Evanston, IL
• Full Time | 40 hours/week
• Hours: shift will vary Monday - Friday, 6:45am - 6pm, no weekends or holidays.
• Required Travel: May float to Glenview/Glenbrook and Highland Park locations based on staffing needs

What you will do:

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patient
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required

What you need:

• Education: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience, required.
• Certification: Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred.
• Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.
