Responsibilities

Leadership & Program Oversight

  • Lead and oversee the company’s digital document accessibility initiative across all offices.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal accessibility policies, procedures, standards, and quality control processes.
  • Provide direct or functional leadership to document production staff, including mentoring, coaching, and performance guidance.
  • Conduct accessibility audits and quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Develop and deliver training on accessibility standards.
  • Serve as the company’s subject matter expert (SME) on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Collaborate with leadership, IT, Marketing, HR, and project teams as needed.
  • Track compliance metrics, identify risk areas, and report accessibility status to leadership.
  • Monitor regulatory and industry developments and recommend updates to company standards and processes.

Document Production & Technical Responsibilities

  • Support multi-office document production across projects and teams.
  • Produce, format, and edit specifications, technical memoranda, reports, and general correspondence using company templates.
  • Review, test, and remediate digital documents (PDFs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to ensure WCAG and Section 508 compliance.
  • Apply accessibility best practices including proper use of styles, headings, tags, alternative text, tables, bookmarks, color contrast, and reading order.
  • Organize and maintain digital files in accordance with document management standards (e.g., ProjectWise).
  • Manage scanning and OCR processes to produce searchable documents.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain working knowledge of company-supported software and tools.
  • Troubleshoot document, application, and user-related issues.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on document formatting, accessibility standards, and best practices.

Qualifications

 

  • 5 - 8+ years of experience in document management, accessibility remediation, or a related role.
  • High School Diploma or or equivalent.
  • Current ADA or digital accessibility certification (e.g., CPACC, WAS, DHS Trusted Tester, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience applying accessibility standards to digital documents.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating accessibility initiatives, programs, or teams.
  • Experience developing internal standards, conducting audits, and implementing quality assurance
  • Self-directed with strong initiative and accountability.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Software & Technical Skills

  • Microsoft Office 365:
    • Word (advanced: styles, graphics, tables, outlines, templates, tables of contents, fields).
    • Excel (intermediate to advanced: formatting, data layout).
  • Adobe Acrobat DC (file conversions, tagging, bookmarks, security, accessibility tools).
  • Scanning and OCR software.
  • ProjectWise standards.
  • Other applications as required to perform job responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., communications, information management, technical writing, digital media, or related discipline).

Compensation Range

$80,000 to $110,000 annually. This is the lowest to highest pay range we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
