Description

The Floater position performs job duties and responsibilities of various assigned positions in the court services unit. These positions include but are not limited to the Receptionist, Court Aide, Scanner, Clerk I, and Clerk II. Submits appropriate forms/documentation required to maintain court processes within the department. Performs other general and independent duties related to the general office operations or related duties as required.Under general supervision of the Supervisor, Court Services Unit:

•Performs duties associated with various positions in the court services unit as needed based on absences, vacancies, or workload consideration.
•Maintains active files, organizing, filing, and retrieving for inspection.
•Ensures files are returned to proper storage.
•Prepares files eligible for archiving: strip, scan, log, and box files.
•Assists with in-court case scheduling.
•Perform related duties as required.


QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent degree. General office skills with two (2) years of experience; excellent telephone and communication skills. Solid interpersonal skills and ability to interact with the public; strong computer skills and knowledge of Windows and PC functionality; Good organizational skills,
analytical skills, and attention to detail; Good oral and written communication skills; ability to work individually and as part of a team; Knowledge of Court Processes preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal air-conditioned office. 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. 35 hours/week. Ability to function well in high-stress situations. Overtime as needed and approved or directed by the unit supervisor. Some exposure to distraught families, victims, etc., and disorderly juveniles.
