POSITION SUMMARY:
The Regulatory Product and Filing Specialist is responsible for maintaining and preparing filings for all lines of business as needed and communicating with Insurance Departments for regulatory issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare rate, rule & form filings as respects ongoing and new lines of business
- Communicate with each State’s Department of Insurance regarding regulatory issues
- Assist in underwriting compliance and filing issues involving company, rate and coverage form issues
- Respond to work comp bureau questions and other inquiries
- Prepare and file NAIC licensing applications for carriers and captives as needed
- Manage bureau and state insurance department portal access for all agents and employees
- Manage agent appointments for Benchmark
- Act as primary SIU/Fraud reporting contact
- Manage and update policy issuance system with rate and form changes
- Communicate with internal reporting team regarding filing and reporting requirements
- Train regulatory staff as needed
- Ability to travel occasionally
- Perform other activities, duties and assignments as needed or requested
- Maintain consistent presence in the office
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working knowledge of laws and regulations relevant to insurance licensing, TPA licensing, rate filings, and reporting.
- Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and recommend solutions
- Knowledge of and demonstrated underwriting skills in the area of commercial insurance
- Property and Casualty Producer licensure is highly desired
- Ability to respond to problems and provide solutions in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to present to external parties in a pleasant, professional manner and enhance the appeal and reputation of the organization as a knowledgeable and service-oriented organization
- Computer skills including knowledge of Excel & Microsoft Office
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage deadlines independently and within a team environment
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3+ years’ experience in the insurance industry, specifically with regulatory analysis and reporting
