Job Description:
APAC Global Treasury and Merchant Operations (GTMO) is looking for dynamic and talented individuals to join the Risk and Business Controls team.
Working with 12 countries and 19 Branches, together with a team located in 6 different countries in APAC, your role is responsible for providing support across multiple pillars within the Risk and Business Control Function, which includes but is not limited to branch oversight cadence, audit and exam readiness, policy adherence, issues management, risk programs and governance, process health governance, product risk assessment, and non-standard process governance.
This role offers you an opportunity to gain exposure to the core operations that support our clients across APAC, including Fulfillment, Service, Branch Operations, Payments, and Trade & Credit processes. Through branch oversight and governance activities, you will develop an understanding of the end-to-end client lifecycle, from client implementation and onboarding, opening new accounts, to successful processing of their transactions. The role offers significant learning opportunities and opens pathways to future career opportunities within GTMO and the wider organization.
Responsibilities:
- Provide horizontal support across the Risk and Business Control function, partnering with Risk Leads on governance and risk management routines.
- Support Branch Oversight cadence, including the daily Production Incident Escalation (PIE) call, monthly APAC GTMO Risk Forum, and Laws, Rules and Regulations (LRR) governance. Responsibilities include maintaining trackers, preparing governance materials, consolidating inputs, performing trend analysis, and producing reporting to enhance visibility to stakeholders across Fulfillment, Service, Branch Operations, Payments, and Credit functions.
- Assist Risk Leads in the execution of governance activities across the multi risk pillars, including audit and examination readiness, policy adherence reviews, risk assessments, issue management, and non-standard process governance.
- Support targeted assessments, pre-audit readiness reviews, and look-back exercises by gathering inputs from stakeholders, analyzing findings, identifying potential risks and control gaps, and tracking remediation actions to completion.
- Support the coordination of audit, regulatory, and risk management activities, including document preparation, evidence gathering, tracking observations, monitoring action plans, and ensuring timely closure of audit and regulatory findings.
- Assist in the preparation of governance presentations, management reporting, and materials for risk forums, senior management reviews, and regulatory engagements.
- Be a Risk Culture Carrier and proactive in promoting and embedding a strong risk management culture throughout the Bank.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years working experience in banking industry.
- Prior experience and good understanding of risk management principles and control framework will be an advantage.
- Good analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills to analyze data, identify trends and understand root cause of issues.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with various stakeholders and geographies.
- Project management skills will be beneficial.
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage deliverable timeline.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative while also being a team player.
- Proficient in using data or relevant software applications and tools.
