Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate openings for Chemical Process Technicians I in Piedmont, SC on Day and Night Shifts. Our client is manufacturing facility that supports automotive industry. This is a Direct Hire opportunity.
Nights: 8pm - 8am (Rotating)
Days: 8am - 8pm (Rotating)
The PROCESS TECHNICIAN I is responsible for:
A. PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Makes all chemical adds to plating lines and fill auto-fed containers.
- Follow and complete daily check list of duties.
- Responsible for acid storage area and chemical holding areas.
- Keep clean and organized.
- Participates in housekeeping/5S activities including Chemical Storage Cage.
- Keep areas where chemical adds are made clean and organized.
- Follow and complete daily check list of duties.
- Assist Waste Treatment Operator when needed. Monitoring process is required.
- Performing outlined duties as indicated in WT Operation Manual.
- HWMOA (Waste Treatment and Hazardous Waste Management Operator) and Training for primary Waste Treatment Operator.
- Abnormal conditions to be corrected by referring to the “Waste Treatment – Abnormal Condition Reaction Plan”. If not address and corrected by this plan, notify Waste Treatment and Chemistry Manager.
- Assist Lab Technician when needed.
- Ensures all chemical additions are entered into Zinc It.
- A 30 minute lunch break is required.
- Reports to Lab Technician on chemical needs.
- Daily inspection of all tanks and report any leaks to maintenance and Chemical Manager immediately.
- Metering pump verification and calibration
- Understands RMF procedure for confined space entry and lockout/tagout.
- Mondays are critical for primary Waste Treatment Operator. Vacation on Mondays not permitted unless week vacation is requested.
- Weekend work and Overtime will be required.
- Technician needs to know how to access and understand MSDS.
- Report unresolved issues to Lab Technician or Chemistry Manager.
- Awareness of the Management System Policy.
- Awareness of company Quality and environmental Objectives.
- Awareness of the Significant Environmental Aspects related to your work area and activities.
- Changing chemistry set points and / or chemistry type.
- Making unauthorized chemical additions
- Changing work schedule.
- Changing waste treatment automated set points on computer.
- Reporting to or deviating from routine duties unless approved by the Lab Technician or the Chemistry Manager.
Job Requirements of a CHEMICAL PROCESS TECHNICIAN I:
- 5+ years' chemical operator experience
- Must be fork lift certified
- Must have basic knowledge of monitoring and performing waste treatments.
- Must not be afraid of heights, climbing or confined spaces.
- Strong attention to detail with data monitoring
- High School/ GED required.
- Chemical handling experience preferred.
- Mechanically inclined with general maintenance knowledge.
REQUIRED Experience and Education:
- High School/ GED required.
- 3 Years of chemical handling experience.
- Computer skills, conversion from US to Metric
