Network Security Architect

Our client is seeking an experienced Network Security Architect to design and implement robust cloud security solutions within AWS environments. This role combines strategic architecture work with hands-on collaboration across application, infrastructure, and security operations teams to build secure, scalable network infrastructure.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to gather, analyze, and translate network security requirements into detailed firewall rules and security policies
• Design and validate comprehensive network security architecture in AWS, including Security Groups, Network ACLs, VPCs, subnets, and Transit Gateways
• Establish and document best practices, standards, and layered defense models for cloud network security design
• Work with perimeter defense and security operations teams to streamline firewall rule processes and optimize rule set management
• Support discovery, planning, and implementation phases for new cloud migrations with security-first design principles
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing cloud network security configurations to enhance performance and compliance
• Implement and manage VPN connectivity and secure network segmentation across cloud infrastructure

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in network security design, infrastructure architecture, and information security
• Advanced expertise in AWS public cloud networking, including VPC design, subnets, route tables, and Transit Gateways
• Strong hands-on experience with firewall technologies, particularly Palo Alto firewalls
• Deep knowledge of Security Groups, Network ACLs, VPN configuration, and firewall rule set development
• Demonstrated understanding of layered defense models and cloud security best practices
• Ability to translate business and application requirements into technical security architecture
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional technical teams
