The Doorways Team provide person-centred trauma-informed care, facilitate short-term financial assistance, and walk side-by-side with participants as they build the skills and knowledge to break the cycle of poverty.

We're looking for two compassionate and community-minded Emergency Relief Assessors to join our team on the Sunshine Coast. In this rewarding role, you'll provide practical support and guidance to individuals and families experiencing financial hardship, helping them access emergency assistance and connect with services that can make a meaningful difference.

About the Role
As an Emergency Relief Assessor, you will:
- Conduct respectful, person-centred interviews to assess eligibility for Emergency Relief in accordance with Doorways guidelines.
- Assess client circumstances and determine appropriate support using sound judgement, empathy, and best practice principles.
- Connect clients with internal and external support services through referrals and advocacy.
- Manage complex or sensitive matters professionally, escalating where required to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records using TSA systems, including SAMIS.
- Identify and report client wellbeing or safety concerns in line with organisational policies.
- Support continuous service improvement by identifying gaps and contributing ideas to enhance service delivery.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum Certificate IV in Community Services or a related qualification (a Diploma is highly regarded).
- Demonstrated experience working within the community services sector.
- A genuine commitment to supporting people from diverse cultural, linguistic, and social backgrounds.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and assessment skills.
- The ability to remain organised, adaptable, and calm in a high-volume environment.
- Previous contact centre experience will be highly regarded for Phone Line Emergency Relief Assessor positions.
- A current and valid Working with Children Check.
