Role Overview: Why This Role Exists


The Wisdom Family Foundation has partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of North Central Illinois to empower young girls to live their full potential. 


The Wisdom Wellness Academy Program Manager will fulfill the responsibilities and deliverables outlined in the Wisdom Wellness Academy grant. The Manager will work closely with the Director of Emotional Well-Being, Site-based Operations team members, U-46 school district partners, and the Wisdom Family Foundation.

Key Responsibilities

Program Planning and Implementation

  • Plan and implement special programs on social-emotional learning, nutrition, healthy habits, body image, goal-setting, leadership, conflict resolution, healthy relationships, and more
  • Navigate daily behavior support by guiding youth to resolve conflict, be accountable, include others, and uphold a positive group culture 
  • Encourage youth to stay on task and deepen their understanding of the content being provided 
  • Facilitate marketing and recruitment strategies to support growth and sustainability of program 
  • Plan and facilitate field trips and special events with a focus on fun, learning, and safety
  • Order supplies for all programs and events 
  • Implement Teen Mentor Model to recruit, train, deploy, and supervise teen mentors at elementary locations and encourage inter-group collaboration
  • Maintain data-driven goals through pre- and post-assessments of youth and feedback from Operations team 
  • Ensure compliance with curriculum and program expectations 


Community & External Partnerships

  • Maintain positive relationships with families, Operations team members, school partners, community partners, board members, and the Wisdom Family Foundation
  • Collaborate with community partners to deliver specialized workshops and learning opportunities
  • Work with Director of Emotional Well-Being and Family Support Services Assistant to identify needs of youth and refer families to services as needed
  • Support with organizational training needs 
  • Maintain positive and professional communication & relationships with youth, staff, parents, and community partners
  • Assist with special projects and assignments directed by the Director of Emotional Well-Being
  • Incorporate Trauma-Informed practices in all interactions
  • Operate under the standards and supervision of the Programming team in alignment with the Strategic Practices

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or higher.
  • Experience working with kids or teens is preferred.
  • Prior management experience is preferred.
  • Prior grant experience is a plus.
  • Program and curriculum planning experience is preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Become certified to drive a 12-passenger van
