Description

The CNA/Clinical Assistant is a vital member of the healthcare team, responsible for delivering compassionate patient care while maintaining the highest standards of sanitation and infection control. This role bridges direct clinical support and essential logistical functions, ensuring patients receive quality care and departments have the supplies they need. Key duties include providing personal care to patients, assisting with daily activities, taking vital signs, maintaining clean and organized environments, and supporting inventory management.


Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide basic patient care, including assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Assist patients with mobility, turning, and positioning.
  • Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
  • Assist patients with meals and monitor food and fluid intake.
  • Observe and report changes in patients’ physical or emotional condition to nursing staff.
  • Support nursing staff with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean and organized.
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock exam rooms, back office, common areas, break rooms, and bathrooms.
  • Assemble, store, and distribute instruments.
  • Turn over & fold laundry for all departments.
  • Assist with turning over exam rooms.
  • Unpack, check, and stock new supplies, equipment/instruments, and devices.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Respond promptly to patient call lights and requests for assistance.
  • Perform other clinical duties as assigned by your supervisor or licensed nurse. 
  • Turnover & fold laundry for all departments. 
  • Assist with turning over exam rooms. 
  • Unpacking, checking, and stocking new supplies, equipment/instruments, and devices. 
  • Other clinical duties as assigned by your supervisor.

CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) Responsibilities

Requirements

 Requirements

  • Punctuality and adherence to schedule are a must.
  • CNA or CMA required. 
  • At least one year of experience in a medical environment is required. 
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds. 
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time. 
  • Ability to work in an upright, standing position for extended periods of time. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Strong communication skills to interact in a professional manner. 
  • Knowledge of best practices for infection control, hazardous waste disposal, and emergency preparedness. 
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and a wide range of surgical instruments, medical devices, and equipment is preferred. 
  • Work is performed in a medical office setting using standard medical equipment.  
  • The risk of exposure to blood and bodily fluids is present.
