What’s in it for you:

This position is eligible to telework on a part-time basis once the incumbent has gained the proficiency to perform work independently. However, regular, scheduled office hours are also required.

Here’s what you will do:

As the Assistant Business Manager, you will directly supervise seven staff who provide records management and citation-processing services. You will also assist the Administrative Services Manager in providing centralized support for the fiscal and business coordination, computer and data services, facilities management and records management activities for Oregon OSHA.

For a complete listing of the duties and responsibilities of this position, please review the position description.

  • Four years of staff-level experience providing administrative support to management. The experience must include technical or analytical duties in the management of program goals and objectives; performing program or project planning; preparing, monitoring, or controlling budgets; or performing research and providing analytical information and/or recommendations used in management decision making. Two years of this experience must have been performed in a supervisory or lead worker capacity.

  • Proven multi-tasking skills and the ability to successfully manage many projects with competing and varying deadlines at once
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to review the work of others with effective feedback skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet changing priorities and deadlines

  • You may be asked to submit a skills assessment, a writing sample, or a video interview as part of the application screening process.

Additional information:

  • Per the Pay Equity Law passed in 2017, an employee pay assessment will be conducted to determine what pay step the successful candidate will be offered.  The assessment will be based on the relevant experience, education, training, and certifications documented in the application materials.  On average, candidates new to state service will most likely be offered compensation in the lower to mid-level of the salary range.
  • The salary range listed is the non-PERS eligible rate. If you are already a participating PERS member or once you become PERS eligible after 6 months of employment, the salary range will increase by 6.95% and the required 6% employee retirement contribution will be deducted from your pay.
  • This position is subject to a fingerprint background check for any convictions directly related to its duties and responsibilities. Only job-related convictions will be considered and will not automatically disqualify the candidate.
