Duties:
- Operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across designated routes, adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Responsible for monitoring road and traffic conditions at all times to prevent accidents.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition, including brakes, lights, tires, and load securement.
- Responsible for appropriately distributing and tying down all loads to ensure safety, using tarps as required.
- Picks up and delivers containers at customer sites on a timely and efficient basis.
- Monitors mechanical functions of the truck.
- Knows materials and what they are allowed to haul and what not to haul (hazardous materials).
- This position makes safety a top priority and looks for opportunities to improve safety, follows all safety rules, and wears appropriate PPE at all times.
- Communicates to the manager immediately any accidents that may have happened with or without damage or any damage done at a customer's facility.
- Drive a variety of trailers including roll-off trucks, flatbeds, lugger, car hauler, etc.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and route details in compliance with federal regulations.
Requirements:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with clean driving record.
- Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery route driving and freight handling.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for commercial drivers.
- Physical ability to lift heavy material regularly and perform vehicle inspections thoroughly.
- Three sided car hauler experience required.
- Roll Off experience is preferred.
- Tractor Trailer- Frameless Dump Trailer experience preferred.
Work Hours:
- Monday through Friday with a 40+ hour workweek.
- Overtime and Saturdays will be required as scheduled.
