A well-established, growing hospitality group seeks a Director of Catering to lead a complex, high-profile higher education catering program near Albany, NY. This role oversees all catering operations, from planning to execution, for a flagship campus with a strong culture of hospitality, long-term client relationships, and consistent growth.
This key leadership role offers the chance to drive financial success, mentor a talented team, and elevate culinary experiences for university leadership, student organizations, and community events across multiple campus venues, all while building a career with a global industry leader.
Compensation & Benefits: $100,000–$120,000 per year + Comprehensive package including medical, dental, and vision (eligible on the 1st of the month following 30 days), 401(k) matching, wellness programs, paid parental leave, training assistance, and PTO.
Relocation: $5,000 lump sum, gross.
Location: Located on-site in Albany, NY

What You'll Do
- Oversee full-scale catering operations, from event booking to menu development, pricing, and administration
- Lead execution of catering events of all sizes, ensuring consistent, high-quality service from BEOs
- Drive annual marketing strategy, contract negotiations, and client-facing sales support
- Own financial performance, sales targets, food/labor costs, and departmental accounting
- Hire, train, and develop a high-performing catering team
- 4+ years in catering/events, with 1–3 years managing high-volume operations
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship skills
- Flexibility for evening, weekend, and holiday events
- Food Handlers & Alcohol Service certifications (or ability to obtain)
