About the role

Duncan & Ross is hiring a senior Food Security Advisor to support a major government client in Abu Dhabi. You will advise the client on food security strategy, strategic reserves and emergency readiness. The aim is an operating model that gives the client clear ownership of food security and works smoothly with federal and Abu Dhabi partners.

What you'll do

• Review how the client currently manages food security and strategic reserves, and how it coordinates with partner entities.
• Advise on governance, decision rights and escalation for emergency and crisis response.
• Define interfaces, roles and responsibilities with Silal, the Food Security Council and other federal and local entities.
• Contribute to international benchmarking of leading food security models, such as Singapore's, and turn the lessons into recommendations for Abu Dhabi.
• Validate the capabilities needed for food security monitoring, early warning and strategic reserves oversight.
• Work with senior government stakeholders to build consensus on the future operating model.

What you'll bring

• 15+ years in food security policy, strategic reserves, supply chain resilience or emergency management.
• Experience advising government entities or international bodies such as FAO or WFP.
• A strong understanding of food security governance, institutional coordination and crisis response frameworks.
• Experience designing or assessing operating models, decision rights and inter-agency interfaces.
• Excellent stakeholder management with senior government leaders.
• Strong analytical, written and presentation skills.
• Fluent English, spoken and written.

Nice to have

• Food security experience in the GCC.
• Familiarity with the UAE federal and Abu Dhabi government landscape.
• Experience with international benchmarking or policy comparison work.
• Arabic, spoken and written.
