Join DayOne – Shaping the Future of Data Infrastructure
DayOne is a global leader in the development and operation of high-performance data centers. As one of the fastest-growing companies in the industry, we’ve built a robust presence across Asia and Europe — and we’re just getting started.
As we expand into new international markets, we’re looking for talented, driven individuals to join us on this exciting journey. This is more than a job — it’s an opportunity to be a key contributor to our dynamic team and help shape the future of global data infrastructure.
If you're passionate about innovation, technology, and growth, we invite you to be part of DayOne’s next chapter.
About the Role
DayOne is building its flagship hyperscale data center campus in Lahti, on a former industrial site in Kiveriö. The campus is designed to use Finland's naturally cool climate for free cooling, with air-cooled chillers that remove the need for freshwater cooling. Join the Lahti team early and help shape how a campus of this scale is built, commissioned, and run.
As a Shift Technician you are responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the data center, ensuring uptime and optimal performance of critical systems. You will work closely with other shift technicians and support staff to ensure seamless shift transitions.
This role requires working in shifts to provide 24/7 coverage, including weekends and public holidays.
Your key responsibilities will include,
Operations and Maintenance
- Monitoring and maintaining critical infrastructure systems including cooling, power distribution, UPS, generators, and fire suppression systems.
- Conducting regular inspections and preventive maintenance on all equipment.
- Responding promptly to alarms and incidents, performing troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
- Assisting in the implementation of new systems and equipment.
- Reporting any safety hazards or incidents to the Shift Lead
System Monitoring
- Utilizing Building Management Systems (BMS) and other monitoring tools to oversee facility operations.
- Recording and analyzing data from monitoring systems to ensure optimal performance and identifying potential issues.
Incident Management
- Managing and escalating incidents according to established protocols.
- Coordinating with vendors and service providers for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Documenting all incidents, maintenance activities, and repairs in the maintenance management system.
Requirements
Technical skills
- Technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience in an operational role in a data center, mission-critical facility, industrial plant, or similar critical environment.
- Knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power distribution, generators, UPS systems, cooling systems, and fire suppression systems.
Soft skills
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with high integrity and a collaborative working style.
- Knowledge of and adherence to health, safety, and compliance procedures in a critical operations environment.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Finnish is a plus.
Why Join DayOne?
- Be a part of a company scaling fast in a booming industry.
- Work on an international stage with global leaders.
- Shape your career in a culture that values curiosity, agility, and bold thinking.
