Team Lead R&D & Engineering

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and coaching the R&D & Engineering team while also acting as the process developer and process owner. You will lead team who maintains and develops existing and new products and technologies in R&D & Engineering department. Your task is to secure electrical & mechanical design capacity and competence for efficient, timely and qualitative projects, post order and task execution. This role is contributing to the Motion business based at Faridabad, India:

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Team Leadership: Lead the R&D & Engineering team, ensuring capacity, competence, and motivation for efficient and high-quality execution of projects and tasks.

• Process Ownership: Own and continuously improve the R&D & Engineering design processes, tools, and methodologies to support product development and lifecycle management.

• Competence Development: Secure people allocation and development using internal and external experts to meet current and future needs.

• Tool Development: Ensure high-quality usage and development of electrical design tools and software together with engineering tools team.

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other R&D locations, operations, and stakeholders to align design and process strategies.

• Market Intelligence: Collect and analyse market information and process data to inform design and process improvements.

• Documentation & Standards: Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with relevant standards and safety regulations.

Qualifications for the role

• B.E. or B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field with 7+ to years’ experience.

• Several years of experience in electrical / mechanical design and process development.

• A proactive, systematic, and collaborative approach to work. Proven leadership and coaching skills.

• Continuous improvement mindset combined with Lean and Agile way of working.

• Experience with insulation systems, magnetic materials, and motor technologies is a plus.

• Familiarity with engineering tools such as Teamcenter, SAP, CAD, and motor design platforms.

• Fluent in English, Other languages are appreciated.
