Description

About The/Nudge Institute :

The/Nudge is an action institute building resilient livelihoods to alleviate poverty. We work with women, farmers, tribals, and youth across rural development, agriculture, skilling, and economic inclusion, in partnership with 15+ central and state governments.

Our economic inclusion journey towards serving 25 million Indians spans 10 states and currently reaches over 1.5 million people. Through our incubator, accelerator, and grand challenges, we have supported 200+ social entrepreneurs, including Forbes 30 Under 30 honorees, Earthshot Prize winners, and nationally recognized changemakers.

Founded with the support of 130+ eminent philanthropists, 40+ corporates, and 15+ foundations, The/Nudge is working towards a poverty-free India, within our lifetime.

About this Role :

The/Nudge is building its own technology products to run the organisation better and to deliver programmes at scale. These include internal platforms our 400+ team members use day to day, and tools that support our programme and field teams. We build fast and in-house, using AI-assisted development tools and LLMs.

We are looking for an Associate Product Manager to own products end to end: from understanding what users need, to shaping the solution, shipping it, and driving adoption. You will work closely with leadership, programme teams, strategy and operations teams, and with the engineers who build our products. This role suits someone who wants hands-on product ownership early in their career, in an organisation where technology directly serves social impact.

What will you do?

  • Discover the problem: Work with internal teams and end users to understand their workflows and pain points through interviews, observation, feedback and usage data. Turn what you learn into clear problem statements.
  • Define the product: Write product requirement documents (PRDs), user stories and acceptance criteria. Make sure every feature has a clear purpose, scope and measure of success.
  • Prioritise the roadmap: Maintain the product backlog and roadmap. Weigh user impact, effort, risk and organisational priorities, and explain trade-offs clearly to stakeholders.
  • Build with engineering and AI: Work hands-on with developers, interns and AI-assisted development tools to design, build and iterate on features. Translate requirements into precise, well-scoped instructions.
  • Test before release: Plan and run user acceptance testing, coordinate beta testers, and track bugs and fixes through to closure. Protect live products from regressions.
  • Launch and drive adoption: Plan rollouts, write launch communications, run demos and training sessions, and create user guides so that products are actually used.
  • Measure what matters: Define and track product metrics such as adoption, usage and user satisfaction. Use the data to decide what to build, fix or retire next.
  • Keep things documented: Maintain product documentation, decision logs and release notes so the products can scale and be handed over smoothly.
  • Grow the product practice: Help bring a product-first, AI-first way of working to new initiatives as The/Nudge builds more products in the future.

Who are we looking for in this role?

  • A degree in engineering, computer science, business, economics or a related field. Strong candidates from other backgrounds who can show product thinking are welcome to apply.
  • 5+ years of overall experience in product management, business analysis, consulting, technology implementation or software engineering. Experience shipping a product or feature that real users adopted is a strong plus.
  • Clear structured thinking: the ability to break a messy problem into its parts and write it up crisply.
  • Comfort with data: spreadsheets are a must; basic SQL or a dashboarding tool is a strong plus.
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI tools and large language models (LLMs), and curiosity about how they can be used to build products faster.
  • Enough technical understanding to work confidently with engineers: how web apps, databases and APIs fit together. You do not need to be a developer.
  • Excellent communication with non-technical users, from senior leadership to field teams. You can explain a feature simply and listen well to feedback.
  • An ownership mindset: you follow a feature through to adoption, not just to release.
  • A strong alignment with our mission to leverage technology for large-scale social impact.

Good to have:

  • Experience building with no-code, low-code or AI-assisted development tools.
  • Exposure to internal tools, ERP, CRM or HRMS systems.
  • Experience in the social sector, or working with government or field programmes.

Please note: This is an onsite, full-time role based in our Bengaluru office. We are dedicated to building a dynamic in-office culture and require all team members to work from the office.

We aspire to be an inclusive and diverse organisation and encourage qualified individuals irrespective of their religion, caste, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, ethnicity, age, or any other dimension of identity, to apply.
