Duties and Responsibilities:

• Staff Supervision: Manage, schedule, mentor, and evaluate unit nurses (RNs/LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)
• Clinical Oversight: Monitor daily resident care, clinical conditions, care plan execution, and accurate medical documentation
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate with physicians, therapists, dietary teams, and families to address changing resident needs
• Operations & Compliance: Ensure safe medication administration, maintain adequate unit supply levels, and enforce federal, state, and local health regulations
• Surveillance & Tracking: Collect, analyze, and trend data on healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and community-acquired illnesses across the facility
• Outbreak Management: Lead rapid responses, contact tracing, isolation protocols, and reporting for outbreaks (such as COVID-19, influenza, or gastrointestinal bugs)
• Staff Education & Training: Train and audit staff on hand hygiene, standard/transmission-based precautions, and proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use

Requirements:

• Must possess a current LPN or RN license, and in good standing
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a supervisor in a long term care setting preferred
• BLS Certified
• Knowledge of rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices
• Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities
