Description

Leadership: Provides leadership and promotes shared responsibility among the team.
Continually seek to further group empowerment and conflict resolution.
Coordinates team staffing and workflow requirements to provide work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel absence.
Defines direction, goals and objectives of the server team.
Participates in maintaining and continuously improving SRPMIC information systems.
2. Supervision: Responsible for daily supervision of the Server Team staff.
- Prepares timely Employee Performance Appraisal Reviews (EPAR) for assigned staff.
- Act as timekeeper for biweekly Time & Labor inputs/approvals in PeopleSoft.
- Directs the daily operational tasks and technical projects for assigned staff.
- Assists in setting the direction and leads staff in Server technology strategic planning.
- Provides guidance and leadership for the Server staff.
- Enforces the implementation of Best Practices
- Manage the ticket queue for the Server team, assigning tasks and distributing the workload for the team. Create tickets to address supporting tasks and project related tasks.
4. Server Services Management: Ensures Server Services are operational, troubleshoot issues and resolves problems promptly, efficiently and accurately. Provides oversight for switch installation, upgrades, patches, tuning, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, supports environments and procedures for the administration of all SRPMIC Tribal Government Server Devices.
- Responsible for management of Server hardware/software maintenance agreements and renewals.
- Develops schedule for Server hardware replacements and/or upgrades needed for existing systems to maintain stability of all devices.
- Develop a schedule for Server software upgrades needed for existing systems to maintain stability of all devices.
- Develops plans, provides overall technical direction and makes recommendations for future SRPMIC technology acquisitions.
- Develop standards for all Server hardware. Formulates and updates documentation for the SRPMIC Server architecture, application installation procedures and general Server policies.
- Prepares and executes solutions with minimal interruption to basic services.
- Leads the Server team in identifying Root Cause Analysis and formulation of effective Correction Actions (RCCA).
- Reviews and approves standard operation procedures (SOP) and ensures that all systems have an accurate system operations guide (SOG).
- Monitors the Server infrastructure using approved monitoring tools.
- Implements measures to ensure Server “Up-Time”
5. Budget Preparation and Tracking:
- Assists in the preparation and provides recommendation of the annual operating budget request to the Infrastructure Manager to maintain and improve IT Services
- Assists in the preparation and provides recommendations for the annual Capital Improvement Projects (CIPs) request process.
- Works with the Infrastructure Manager regarding budgeting for Server component additions, upgrades and service support.
- Tracks and reports on the spending for both the operating budget and CIPs as expenses are incurred.
6. Contract Management: Writes technical requirements for Request for Proposal (RFP), or Request for Quote (RFQ), documents and assembles the results for review.
- Works with the Purchasing Team to qualify and select vendors through the competitive bid process in accordance with The Community’s approved policies.
- Responsible for monitoring the contract from its inception to closure each fiscal year and includes the entire bid process and contract performance monitoring.
- Manages the vendor to the responsibilities outlined in the contract and statement of work.
- Responsible for controlling and regulating vendor performance.
- Oversee the execution of responsibilities by the vendor.
- Addresses issues identified/escalated by teams or refer issues to the Infrastructure Manager for resolution.
- Reports quarterly on vendor performance to IT management.
8. Project Management:
- Monitors the progress of IT Server related projects including Server services and standards, related project expenditures, task scheduling and duty assignments for Server projects.
- Reallocates resources and modifies goals and work schedules to attain maximum efficiency.
- Manages the product and cost benefit analysis process, product selection and implementation methods.
9. Change Control Management: Ensures all changes to the production environment follow approved departmental change control policies, practices and procedures.
10. Miscellaneous: Performs other IT job related tasks as assigned by the Infrastructure Manager, Assistant Director of Infrastructure & Operations or the IT Director.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:
- Knowledge of the history, culture, laws, ordinances, customs and traditions of the SRPMIC.

- Ability to effectively manage simultaneous Server issues.
- Ability to effectively manage staffing-related issues.
- Ability to effectively manage Server-related change and requirements gathering in a fast-paced, high-demand work environment.
Experience: Five (5) years’ experience managing enterprise-class solutions associated with complex environments and experience in managing overall Server systems and design required. Three (3) years of supervisory experience, mentoring and handling staff issues required.
- Five (5) years’ concurrent experience managing Cisco wired and wireless Server equipment, management tools and ASA firewalls.
- Five (5) years’ concurrent experience working as a Server Administrator.
- Four (4) years’ concurrent experience in designing and implementing medium to large Server configurations addressing availability, security, and flexibility.
Equivalent: Any equivalent combination of education and experience that will allow the applicant to satisfactorily perform the duties of the job may be considered.

- May be required to work beyond normal work hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Will be required to participate in the “on-call” staffing rotation.
- May be required to complete a Salt River Police Department (SRPD) background check and polygraph examination.
- May be required to receive and maintain a Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, Community Regulatory License and State Certification (ADOG).
