SURGICAL RECOVERY COORDINATOR

The Surgical Recovery Coordinator (SRC) primarily functions as our OR circulator. The SRC leads the surgical team, ensuring compliance with various policies and regulations, documenting and charting all organ recovery activities, and performing hands-on procedures as necessary. You play a critical role in ensuring donated organs for transplant are handled properly and efficiently made available for the designated recipients.
Successful candidates should have a strong interest and background in the medical field. They should also have solid critical thinking skills, and the ability to work independently. This is a great career for someone who loves the challenge of a clinical environment and wants greater levels of responsibility. Those with Operating Room experience will be right at home.

- Hours may vary, and you will participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, and you will work some nights and/or weekends, and holidays too. Your salary will reflect these challenging shifts.
- This is a full-time, expected 40 hour/week position. You will often encounter extended workdays associated with being on-call. A generous shift-differential is added for work outside of normal business hours.

Minimum Qualifications:
Training/Education/Certification:
- Healthcare certification preferred, such as EMT, CNA, CST, paramedic, or similar.
- Associate degree or higher preferred.
- Must also be willing to obtain industry specific certification within 1 year of hire.
Experience Required:
- Minimum one year of relevant clinical experience: MA, EMS, CNA, EMT, etc.
- Operating Room experience is preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of organ and tissue transplant fields preferred
- Computer literate; experience with electronic medical record charting preferred
- Excellent public relations and interpersonal abilities
- Solid oral and written communication skills
- Attentive to detail and able to maintain accurate records
- Able to work well with all levels of personnel in hospital settings and within the differing guidelines of each institution
- Works well under stressful conditions
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to move up to 70 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to stoop, squat, or bend frequently
- Exposure to patient elements including communicable disease, bloodborne pathogens, and other common hazards of a clinical setting
- Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
