Who you'll be:
The EOC Shift Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing all operational, scheduling, documentation, and communication workflows to support the VA Enterprise Operations Center. This role serves as the primary Watch Officer during high-priority periods and manages team rotations into Watch Officer and Assistant Watch Officer duties during pre-deployment preparations and market go-live events.
What you'll do:
- Lead the team performing Watch Officer and Assistant Watch Officer rotations.
- Oversee daily EOC operations, including bridge-line monitoring, dashboard awareness, ticket/incident tracking, and shift change execution.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of the Watch Officer Log, including incident logging, due-outs, ticket updates, and leadership notes.
- Manage production and quality of AM/PM briefings and executive read-aheads.
- Coordinate facility setup, seating plans, schedules, PACE/contingency communication readiness, and onsite logistics.
- Serve as the first escalation point for EOC support staff.
- Manage pre go live operational planning timelines, readiness assessments, and standardized process adherence.
- Liaise between EOC Operations Director, EHRM IO SMEs, Oracle Health, OIT, and site command centers.
What you need:
- 5+ years of experience in operations centers, emergency management, military command centers, or technical operations.
- Experience managing shift-based teams.
- Expertise in Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and operations dashboards.
- Ability to synthesize real-time information and brief senior government leadership clearly.
- Strong schedule management and operational planning skills.
Nice to have:
- Experience supporting federal programs (VA/VHA strongly preferred).
- ITIL, emergency management, or operations certifications.
- Experience with SNOW/Remedy or incident management systems.
