What you need to know
- TTI is a Texas based agency. This position has the flexibility of a hybrid remote option with three days in a TTI Texas based office. This can be discussed further during the interview process.
- Your primary duty station will be TTI San Antonio TransGuide Building, located at 3500 NW Loop 410, Suite 315, San Antonio, Texas 78229. You are required to report to this location for the first 30 days of employment. Following this initial period, a flexible work arrangement may be approved at the agency’s discretion.
- The salary range for position is commensurate. Final salary will be determined based on the applicant's qualifications and experience.
- A Presidential proclamation issued on September 19, 2025, imposes a $100,000 fee on new H-1B petitions filed after September 21, 2025. Please be advised that Texas A&M University will NOT pay this fee. Therefore, if you need immigration sponsorship for your employment, we recommend that you consult with your private immigration counsel at your own expense to ascertain whether your current immigration status would make a potential offer of employment from Texas A&M University subject to this fee.

Job Summary
The position is expected to serve as Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI, or contribute as a significant lead in research and proposal development. Has an understanding of principles of quality and unbiased research. Completes projects on-time with completed deliverables. Conducts research following safety practices and guidelines. Participate in technology transfer and implementation. Employee will be responsible for managing current contracts as well as submission of new proposals, composing various reports and white papers, presenting deliverables and study reports, overseeing graduate students and other personnel, developing proposals, and inter- program coordination and project management. Continued employment in this position is contingent upon availability of funding and satisfactory performance.
Essential Duties
- Report preparation: Compiles, documents, and presents results in formats required for inclusion in reports, technical memoranda, and presentations. Prepares technical documentation, including literature reviews, data collection, analysis, and summaries. Prepares project reports and other deliverables as required. Prepares materials for presentation of research results and other deliverables at technical meetings or other venues and to sponsors. (25%)
- Actively seeks and obtains externally-funded research projects, performing work on basic and applied technology problems, and participate in research proposals serving as Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI, or contributes as a significant lead in the proposal. (20%)
- Manages, communicates, and coordinates with multi-disciplinary teams comprising research staff, graduate and undergraduate students, and support staff to ensure the completion of research objectives and timely delivery of high-quality project deliverables. (20%)
- Applied research duties, including data collection, analysis, coordination, and supervision: Plans, schedules, coordinates, and reports detailed phases of research and development projects. Evaluates and documents data collection requirements and activities. Coordinates data gathering activities and gathers data needed for research tasks. Assembles, organizes, documents, and archives datasets. Synthesizes data and extract meaningful statistics and trends. Develops and/or runs applications to conduct the research. Analyzes and develops potential new techniques, policies, procedures, and recommendations. Conducts the necessary literature review and background information search to support techniques and methodologies used, as well as documenting past research for reporting purposes. (20%)
- Research presentations: Prepares and give presentations to existing and potential sponsors, academic settings, or conference settings. Prepares, schedules, conducts, and document research meetings. (5%)
- Interacts with sponsors and potential clients. (5%)
- Performs other duties as assigned. (5%)
Required Education and Experience
- Masters Degree
- Three years of related experience.
- Or Ph.D. and one year of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related field.
- Experience in GIS analysis using tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or GIS-related packages in R or Python.
- Experience in big data analytics, including processing, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets.
- Knowledge and application of statistical modeling and machine learning methods using statistical software and/or programming languages such as R and Python.
- Experience in transportation modeling, including applying and interpreting results from tools such as Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, TransModeler, or similar packages.
Physical Requirements

- Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
