Purpose Statement

We are seeking an experienced Senior React Developer to independently design, build, maintain, and enhance modern, scalable, and user-friendly software applications.

As the primary developer responsible for the application, this role requires a high degree of technical ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to manage development priorities with limited oversight. The ideal candidate combines strong React and front-end development expertise with the ability to translate business requirements into reliable, maintainable technical solutions.

Position Overview

The Senior React Developer will have end-to-end responsibility for the development and ongoing support of the organization’s React-based software application.

The role will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, technical design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently, making technical recommendations, identifying risks, and collaborating directly with business stakeholders, product owners, vendors, and other technical resources as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable web applications using React.
• Serve as the primary technical owner of the React application and related front-end components.
• Translate business requirements, user needs, wireframes, and functional specifications into working software.

• Build reusable, responsive, accessible, and maintainable user-interface components.
• Manage application architecture, code quality, technical standards, and development practices.
• Integrate front-end applications with APIs, databases, services, and third-party platforms.
• Write clean, efficient, secure, and well-documented code.
• Independently troubleshoot and resolve application defects, performance issues, and production incidents.
• Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, and front-end tests.
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, security, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Assess technical requirements, provide development estimates, and identify risks or dependencies.
• Manage source control, branching, code releases, and deployment activities.
• Maintain technical documentation relating to application architecture, functionality, configurations, integrations, and support processes.
• Monitor application health and address issues following releases or system changes.
• Coordinate with external vendors or technical specialists when additional expertise is required.
• Communicate technical issues, recommendations, and trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve application quality, stability, and development efficiency.

Experience and Qualifications

• Five or more years of software development experience, including significant hands-on experience with React.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Advanced knowledge of React, including components, hooks, state management, routing, and application architecture.
• Experience independently owning or supporting a business-critical software application.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and modern front-end development standards.
• Experience integrating applications with RESTful APIs or other web services.
• Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and coding best practices.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and front-end testing methodologies.
• Proficiency with Git, source control, branching strategies, and release management.
• Experience working across the full software development lifecycle.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing requirements, and manage deadlines.
• Ability to gather requirements and communicate directly with business and technical stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering stable, secure, and high-quality software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Next.js or another React-based framework.
• Experience with state-management tools such as Redux, Zustand, or React Context.
• Familiarity with Node.js and back-end development.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools, and automated deployment processes.
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards and secure development practices.
• Experience working with component libraries or design systems.
• Familiarity with containerization, microservices, or distributed application environments.
• Experience managing third-party integrations and external development vendors.
• Experience developing enterprise, SaaS, or business-critical applications.
