Description
Salary Range: $19.9580 - $23.0720/hour. Salary reflects Step 4 and Step 7 of a 7-step pay scale. Salary at hiring will be dependent upon the applicant's education, experience, and training.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Job Summary:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties involved in the enforcement of City parking regulations; and provides general information and assistance to the public.
Scope of Responsibility:
Incumbent follows prescribed procedures in performing duties. Working with readily available supervision, incumbent performs work according to clearly defined principles.
Enforce Parking Regulations
- Monitors and patrols designated areas including commercial areas and neighborhoods.
- Issues citations as required for parking infractions.
- Appropriately handles disputes and complaints with disgruntled vehicle owners.
- Ensures safety in Parking Zones such as fire lanes and handicap spaces.
- Uses technology in parking enforcement from modern tools like handheld devices and software programs.
Customer Service
- Educates the public on parking regulations in a courteous manner.
- Assists with traffic control when needed to improve safety and flow of traffic.
Record Keeping
- Collects and assists in processing parking violation payments.
- Completes necessary paperwork such as notice of violation forms.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or GED
- One (1) year experience in cash handling and customer service
- A valid Montana driver’s license or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment
Work requires frequent walking, standing, sitting, and movement. Work requires frequent moderate physical effort moving between 5 and 25 pounds. Work requires high attention to detail or deadlines frequently (between 45% and 70% of the time). There is occasional exposure (between 15% and 45% of the time) to multiple disagreeable elements, such as odor, angry public, or unpleasant weather conditions.
