We are seeking a compassionate, clinically skilled Registered Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced ambulatory oncology environment and is committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care.
This position supports an oncology surgical provider and requires the selected candidate to rotate between our Roseville and Sacramento clinic locations based on the provider's schedule. The role is a unique blend of direct patient care and care coordination, requiring the ability to balance hands-on clinical responsibilities with significant computer-based work. Daily responsibilities include telephone triage, assessing and responding to patient symptoms, coordinating care across multiple specialties, documenting in the electronic health record, managing referrals and follow-up care, and communicating with patients, caregivers, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team. In addition, the Registered Nurse will perform comprehensive patient assessments, provide wound care, complete medication reconciliation, deliver patient and caregiver education, and support patients before and after surgical procedures and throughout their oncology treatment journey.
The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while providing compassionate, high-quality care. Strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, communication, and time management skills are essential, as this role requires independent decision-making, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and the ability to respond to changing patient needs. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, coordinate, educate, and evaluate individualized patient care while incorporating each patient's physical, psychological, social, cultural, spiritual, and lifestyle needs. By adhering to Sutter Health policies, evidence-based practice, and professional nursing standards, the successful candidate will help ensure a safe, seamless, and exceptional patient experience across the continuum of oncology care.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
RN-Registered Nurse of California
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
2 years recent relevant experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Demonstrated knowledge and competence with regard to nursing theories, concepts and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology.
Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations.
Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record.
Prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.

Pay Range is $71.72 to $100.40 / hourThe compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
