Location: Driscoll Physical and Sports Therapy – Southside Outpatient Clinic
Schedule: Our outpatient clinic operates Monday - Friday from 7:00am-6:00pm. The candidate will have the flexibility to choose a schedule that suits their 40-hour week, whether it's five 8-hour days, four 10-hour days, or another variation. Enjoy a work-life balance with no weekend shifts and no on-call duties.
General Purpose of Job:
Support Staff for Outpatient Rehab Department and facilitates the strength and conditioning training of athletes in the clinic as well as through communications with athletic trainers in the community and physician offices. Assists with the development of exercise routines, exercise supervision, tracking athlete progress and adjusting exercise plans accordingly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains the utmost level of confidentiality at all times.
- Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
- Provides written documentation according to departmental standards.
- Observe training, practice, and performance and use observations in conjunction with the athlete's records to assess strengths and weaknesses and design programs accordingly.
- Conduct and assist with performance and functional testing.
- Maintains open and direct communication with physical therapists, athletic trainers, coaches, and other health care professionals regarding exercise routine, coordination of services, and other needs as necessary.
- Supports interdisciplinary patient care activities under the direction of licensed clinical staff and within established scope and competencies.
- Uses professional skills and knowledge to educate and positively impact the growth of the athlete/patient and overall program.
- Provides workshops, seminars, and/or coaches clinic to department, hospital, schools, or community agencies in the area of expertise as needed.
- Assists with setup and breakdown of equipment and materials for patient care, athletic performance training, and special programs.
- Demonstrates flexibility in work schedule in order to meet the needs to the population and department.
- Will occasionally drive for Driscoll Children’s Hospital business.
- Demonstrates the ability to use computer/software applications required for the job.
- May be required to work at an alternate location to support the needs of the served population.
Secondary Department Support Responsibilities:
- Supports a safe training environment by adhering to and promoting infection prevention and control practices.
- Assists with maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of therapy and training spaces, equipment, and treatment areas.
- Assists with basic administrative, scheduling, registration, and communication tasks as needed to support clinic operations.
- Assists with inventory management, including monitoring supplies, linens, equipment, expiration dates, and established par levels.
- Supports purchasing, ordering, and stocking activities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science/Exercise Science or related degree
- Certification: Personal Trainer or CSCS certification from one of the following organizations – NASM, ACSM, NSCA, or ACE; preferred at hire date but acceptable within 1 year of hire if currently pursuing certification
- Current CPR certification or will complete within 90 days upon hire
- Must have active, unrestricted driver's license.
