Legal Assistant – Real Estate
Position Overview
A well-established law firm seeks an experienced Legal Assistant to support attorneys and paralegals on residential and commercial real estate transactions. This full-time, on-site role offers competitive compensation, professional growth opportunities, and a collaborative work environment.
Key Details
- Location: Downtown, Fort Myers, FL
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM (1-hour lunch, 37.5 hours/week)
- Salary: $60,000–$70,000
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys and paralegals
- Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, contracts, correspondence, and pleadings
- Manage residential and commercial real estate transactions from contract to closing
- Prepare and organize closing documents
- Coordinate with lenders, title companies, real estate agents, and clients
- Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and conference room scheduling
- Maintain organized client files (electronic and physical)
- Open new client and matter files with proper conflict procedures
- Conduct title searches and review title commitments
- Process time entries, expense reports, and invoices
- Arrange business travel and logistics
- Draft legal correspondence and memoranda
- Handle calls and correspondence professionally
Required Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of legal assistant experience (mid-sized to large firm preferred)
- Proven experience with residential and commercial real estate transactions
- Strong command of legal terminology and office procedures
- Exceptional writing, grammar, and proofreading skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Approximately 80 wpm typing proficiency (preferred)
