Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible.
Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber Technical Design Director to spearhead the engineering, architectural development, and design integration for a major program in Riyadh. In this senior leadership role, you will bridge the gap between high-level architectural intent and complex technical, structural, and security execution. Managing a multidisciplinary team and elite design consultants, you will ensure full compliance with rigorous military standards, local codes (SBC), and tight delivery schedules from concept design through to Issued for Construction (IFC) stages.
What You'll Be Doing
Design Leadership: Lead and oversee the comprehensive design strategy, technical reviews, and engineering assurance across complex, mission-critical military infrastructure and vertical structures.
Consultant & Stakeholder Management: Direct Lead Design Consultants (LDCs) and specialist sub-consultants, ensuring design packages match budget, timeline, and quality parameters. Act as the primary technical liaison to senior clients and local authorities.
Multidisciplinary Integration: Drive flawless coordination across architecture, structural engineering, MEP, infrastructure, and specialized security/defense systems to eliminate design bottlenecks and spatial conflicts.
Quality & Code Assurance: Conduct rigorous buildability reviews, value engineering, and risk management. Ensure all designs strictly adhere to Saudi Building Codes (SBC), civil defense protocols, and global defense facility benchmarks.
BIM & Delivery Governance: Oversee design workflows within a BIM-led environment, ensuring precise data integration, clear change management protocols, and comprehensive technical documentation.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field (Master’s degree or professional chartership preferred).
Experience: A minimum of 15 years of progressive design management experience, with a proven track record on mega-projects or government/defense infrastructure in the GCC region (Saudi Arabia experience is highly preferred).
What Desired Skills You'll Bring
Technical Expertise: Strong mastery of technical design integration, structural/architectural buildability, value engineering, and high-security facility protocols.
Leadership Skills: Exceptional ability to manage large, multidisciplinary technical teams, negotiate technical solutions with clients, and work under fast-track delivery constraints.
Credentials: Member or eligible for membership in the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE). Registration with professional bodies like RIBA, AIA, ICE, or IStructE is a major advantage.
