Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale is seeking a Chief Engineer to support the Director of Engineering in overseeing resort maintenance and engineering operations, ensuring the property remains safe, efficient, and impeccably maintained. In this role, you will help lead the engineering team, coordinate maintenance across critical building systems, support staff development, manage vendor relationships, and respond to guest and operational needs with professionalism and care. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, a passion for hospitality, and a commitment to operational excellence.
What you will do
Assist in managing the team to conduct repairs and maintenance of the building as required by the operation or special projects assigned by the Engineering Manager.
Assist in the training, supervision, counseling, scheduling and evaluation of performance and planning the activities of maintenance staff including making spot checks on a daily basis.
Maintain close working relations with hotel contractors who provide reliable 24-hour emergency services.
This position may also respond to inquiries and problems in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner to achieve guest satisfaction.
What you bring
Previous experience in hospitality engineering, facilities maintenance, or related trades preferred, with at least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a hotel or resort environment.
Strong technical knowledge of building systems and maintenance disciplines, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general facilities operations.
Proficiency with computer systems and maintenance-related technology.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with guests, team members, and vendors.
Spanish language skills are preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and support a fast-paced operation.
