MercerDescription:
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Darwin team at Mercer. This role will be based in Cluj-Napoca. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The Associate Consultant configures and consults on core DarwinTM functionality and supports the delivery of simple to medium benefits, standard provider reports, and other project tasks. The role partners with more senior team members and Pod Leads to deliver quality outcomes, build technical and consulting capability, and support end-to-end benefit administration processes.
This position is well suited to someone who can balance configuration work with project coordination, quality ownership, stakeholder communication, and continuous development in a fast-paced delivery environment.
We will count on you to
- Configure core DarwinTM functionality and simple to medium benefits, including unit testing, standard provider reports, and other assigned tasks.
- Own assigned project workstreams and ensure stakeholders and the Pod Lead are informed of progress, priorities, risks, and blockers in a timely manner.
- Review scoping documents, update project documentation and internal tools, and support successful delivery through UAT, sign-off, and transition into Business As Usual.
- Perform simple configuration tasks independently and support medium or complex configuration tasks with guidance or supervision.
- Apply delivery best practice, follow internal methodology and Confluence process flows, and help ensure quality gates are met throughout the project.
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams and client stakeholders while contributing to knowledge sharing and ongoing team development.
What you need to have
- A good understanding of Darwin capabilities, project flow, and how quality standards support successful delivery.
- The ability to manage your own workload, adapt to shifting priorities, and deliver tasks in line with timelines and budget expectations.
- Basic to developing technical capability in DarwinTM configuration, unit testing, interface delivery, and peer review.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate actions, share updates, and work effectively with internal and client stakeholders.
What can you expect?
- A hybrid working model with at least three days per week in the Cluj-Napoca office.
- Hands-on experience across DarwinTM configuration, project delivery, UAT coordination, and quality management activities.
- Access to structured learning, including Darwin Enablement for New Joiners, delivery-specific trainings, and project-related knowledge sessions.
- Opportunities to grow your consulting, technical, stakeholder management, and project ownership skills while contributing to increasingly complex work.
What makes you stand out?
- Consulting skills, technical DarwinTM capability, and a strong quality mindset.
- Effective communication, relationship management, and a proactive approach to delivery challenges.
- Responsibility, curiosity, and commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
