Examples of Duties:
- Instructs other members of crews in proper operational procedures and techniques.
- Assists the Crew Leader in coordinating the tasks to be performed by the crew; supervises the crew in the absence of the Crew Leader.
- Operates city vehicles and equipment, to include trucks and trailers.
- May requisition or purchase supplies and equipment.
- Cuts lawns.
- Trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls.
- Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs.
- Sprays lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides.
- Cleans grounds and removes litter.
- Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts.
- Makes minor on-site repairs to equipment such as lawn mower, spreader, and weed trimming equipment; sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears.
- Receives instruction and training in proper safety precautions, use of tools, etc. required in maintenance.
- Performs any other related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Two years of experience
- High school diploma/GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid state issued driver's license.
- Ability to use a smart phone device and computer software
