Salary £60,000 to £70,000
Leonardo UK operates a grade-based salary framework with broad bands. The salary range shown reflects the approved grade band for this role, or a narrower hiring range published within that band, and is benchmarked against the external market. Exceptions above the standard range are managed through governance controls to protect internal equity.
Your Impact:
• Oversee daily operations of the CEMA range, ensuring availability, performance, and security.
• Manage the design, deployment, and maintenance of virtualised and physical range environments.
• Develop and maintain realistic threat scenarios, red‑team activities, and training injects.
• Coordinate range scheduling, resource allocation, and multi‑team exercises.
• Ensure compliance with security, accreditation, and data-handling requirements.
CEMA Integration & Capability Development
• Lead the integration of cyber, electronic warfare, and information activities into training and experimentation events.
• Work with SMEs to design scenarios that reflect real‑world CEMA operations, including contested electromagnetic environments.
• Support capability trials, tool evaluation, and TTP (tactics, techniques, procedures) development.
• Maintain awareness of emerging CEMA threats, technologies, and doctrine.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
• Manage a cross-LoB team of engineers, operators and exercise planners.
• Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including military customers and industry partners.
• Provide technical and operational guidance to ensure safe, effective, and mission‑aligned range activities.
• Deliver briefings, reports, and after‑action reviews to senior leadership.
Exercise Planning & Delivery
• Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of CEMA training events.
• Develop exercise objectives, success criteria, and performance metrics.
• Ensure smooth integration of blue, red, white, and grey cell functions.
• Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement of scenarios and infrastructure.
What You'll Bring:
• Strong background in cyber and/or EM operations, CEMA, or cyber‑electromagnetic training environments.
• Experience managing synthetic environments, testbeds, or technical training platforms.
• Understanding of offensive and defensive cyber techniques, EW fundamentals, and threat emulation.
• Proven leadership experience in technical or operational teams.
• Ability to translate operational requirements into technical solutions.
• Familiarity with virtualisation, networking, cloud platforms, and security tooling.
• Excellent communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in defence, national security, or critical infrastructure environments.
• Experience with RF systems, spectrum management, or EW toolsets.
• Background in exercise design, red teaming, or cyber training delivery.
