The Hospice Rabbi Chaplain provides compassionate spiritual, emotional, and pastoral care to hospice patients and their families during one of life's most meaningful transitions. As a valued member of the interdisciplinary hospice team, the Chaplain ensures patients and loved ones receive a smooth, supportive, and dignified experience by addressing their spiritual needs, honoring Jewish traditions and beliefs, and promoting comfort, hope, and peace throughout the end-of-life journey.
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of the emotional effects of death, grief, and loss, and will have the ability to be open, flexible, and ecumenical in ministry. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to the terminally ill for effective interaction with patients and families.
Responsibilities
Minimum Requirements:
- Ordained Rabbi and a member in good standing with their recognized Jewish denomination or rabbinical organization.
- Graduate-level theological degree from an accredited college, university, or theological school
- Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), or currently enrolled
- Minimum of one year experience in chaplaincy preferred
- Willingness to travel to the homes of patient/family members
Pay Range
USD $32.00 - USD $35.00 /Hr.Qualifications
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job, and it does not include the value of benefits.
