The role of an Regional Sales Manager is to plan, manage and direct the sales force to achieve sales and commercial margin goals within the region through effective implementation of marketing strategies and management controls.
Area of accountability no.1: Region Sales Results
Motivating, growth-oriented leaders who have the ability to translate sales data into actionable steps for teams and business units in order to achieve sales and business goals throughout a determined region.
In order to expand and grow market share objectives, you analyze market information, coach the team on prospecting, creating sales plans, and implement marketing strategies.
Expected results: Achieve and exceed yearly sales targets while managing expenses
Area of accountability no.2: People Management and Building Talent
As a Regional Sales Manager you are in charge of hiring and developing talent, driving sales and revenue by developing top sales professionals in the Animal Health industry across a wide portfolio of products and across multiple channels.
Utilizing coaching skills to support and manage 8-10 sales representatives across the region.
Support and coach to a consistent approach to customer engagement through sales force effectiveness of Territory Sales Managers.
Expected results: Achieve revenue budget and maximize sales through highly engaged team with low turnover
Area of accountability no.3: Veterinary Customer Management and Development
Activities include organizing and leading Territory Sales Managers in the attainment of sales goals along with the development of commercial strategies and initiatives within the deployment of Virbac programs.
Overnight travel to spend time observing and coaching reps within their territory, supporting KOL dinners and events covering the Gulf Coast Region.
To support and cover the region will require 50% travel.
Expected results: Manage customers portfolio, develop customer intimacy and loyalty and optimize customer profitability contribution
Area of accountability no.4: Marketing Strategy Implementation
Contributes and collaborates on the implementation of the marketing strategies for each portfolio.
Organizes the local implementation of strategies at the field level and together with marketing is responsible for the follow up and the measurement of effectiveness of the strategies.
In partnership with the marketing department and sales operations department to deploy and measure the ROI of marketing and sales strategies.
Expected results: Implementation of effective local sales and marketing strategies that increase sales and profit contribution within the region
Area of accountability no.5: Corporate Account Responsibility
Develop, coach, implement, and measure outcomes of strategic business plans in order to meet or exceed sales goals and objectives for designated products and/or across portfolio of Virbac product.
Works with TSM’s to place new products in corporate account clinics with pull through of utilization.
Meets with Corporate Accounts frequently to ensure Virbac is highlighted within the corporate account clinics
Expected results: Manage corporate accounts to ensure Virbac’s profitability. Assist with enhancing our presence and partnership within the Corporate Account
Education & Experience:
Previously demonstrated success in commercial planning, sales leadership, marketing, launching products and product life cycle management, training and development, sales operations and analytics. Sophisticated understanding of the Animal Health market, including market mechanisms, various channels of engagement, relationship management with key organizations and authorities.
Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
8+ years sales experience with accolades and proven success
Experience with previous sales management experience with P + L responsibility preferred
Animal Health Industry strongly preferred
Work hours may include evenings, weekends and holidays
Covers the Gulf Coast Region
Requires 50% of travel
