PROJECT DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a hands-on operations leader focused on delivering exceptional guest and member experiences at The Maryland Club.  Located within the XFINITY Center at the University of Maryland, The Maryland Club is a premium, members-only club offering upscale dining, member programming, game day service, and private events.

THE ROLE   

The Club Manager of The Maryland Club is the primary on-site operational leader responsible for day-to-day service execution, people leadership, staff development, member engagement, and maintaining premium club standards as well as the XFINITY Center premium game day operations, including suites, courtside service, and all-inclusive game day club operations. This role is designed as the owner of daily operations in the building, fully accountable for the guest and member experience.

This role requires strong floor presence, consistent communication, and the ability to uphold a high-quality private club experience through hands-on leadership and execution.

Operations Leader

  • Lead daily club operations and serve as the primary decision-maker on-site
  • Ensure consistent execution of service, safety, and operational standards
  • Oversee premium game day operations and all guest-facing experiences
  • Maintain readiness, organization, and presentation of all club spaces

Hospitality Leader

  • Set and uphold hospitality standards reflective of a premium private club
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with members and guests
  • Lead service recovery and respond to feedback with professionalism
  • Oversee member programming, events, and experiential initiatives

Member Experience Creator

  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable all salaried and hourly team members
  • Oversee hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
  • Establish a culture of accountability, professionalism, and pride
  • Ensure consistent training standards and team preparedness

Culinary & Beverage

  • Provide leadership oversight of all food and beverage operations
  • Partner with culinary and beverage leadership to ensure quality and consistency
  • Ensure alignment between front- and back-of-house teams

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the successful candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels and evoke creative talents. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 2–4 years of hospitality leadership experience in restaurants, lounges, private clubs, hotels, or sports venues.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours due to business requirements including late nights, weekends game days and holidays.
  • Knowledge of accounting policy and procedures and POS Systems is required, preferably ClubEssentials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

COMPENSATION

Competitive salary range of $70,000 - $80,000 commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
