CAD Design Manager

Overview

The Design Manager will manage all aspects of the companys design requirements utiling in house team and also outsourcing to an established engineering firm. The design team is responsible for producing proposals and manufacturing drawings for light gauge steel frames, wall panels, floor cassettes, structural and non structural. You will manage a professional, innovative and creative design team in a solution based environment.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of building regulations and certification is essential.

Vertex, CAD & BIM experience is essential.

Understanding of the Building Regulations & BCAR Process.

Detailing knowledge; site experience an advantage

Responsibilities

Main Objectives:

• Take full responsibility for management of the design team outputs
• Programming the work of the design team to meet the company’s commercial requirements
• Create a solution based ethos inside the design team
• Working with commercial manager with proposals for potential clients
• Lead the design team in producing specifications and drawings for production
• Product development to meet client requirements

 

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the design team and ensuring outputs are met.
• Preparing tendering proposals with commercial manager.
• Preparing Architectural drawings for production and handover to client.
• Decision making on specification of products.
• Ensuring compliance with certification and building regulations.
• Responsible for continuous improvement of design team and technologys used.
