Description
SpecialtyRx is a Long-Term Care pharmacy providing pharmaceutical services to long-term care facilities and assisted living communities. SpecialtyRx takes pride in delivering personalized care and quality pharmacy services.
- Assist the Pharmacist in Charge and Floor Manager with daily pharmacy operations and departmental tasks.
- Oversee daily workflow to ensure prescription orders, packaging, filling, compounding, and deliveries are completed accurately and on time, including STAT orders.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure productivity and workflow expectations are met.
- Direct staff to appropriate tasks based on workload, priorities, and operational needs.
- Allocate staffing resources effectively to maintain workflow efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
- Monitor pharmacy operations throughout the shift and proactively identify and resolve workflow issues.
- Coordinate with Floor Leads to maintain consistent workflow and communicate changing priorities.
- Provide guidance, support, and assistance to pharmacy staff to promote teamwork and productivity.
- Maintain a positive and professional work environment, particularly during high-volume or stressful situations.
- Ensure floor stock is restocked in a timely manner and expired medications are removed according to established procedures.
- Rotate medication stock and maintain appropriate inventory controls.
- Assist with the processing, recycling, and disposal of returned medications in accordance with established procedures.
- Perform packaging, filling, shipping, and other pharmacy technician duties as needed, including prepacking floor bulk prescriptions.
- Monitor and reinforce compliance with pharmacy policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Address attendance, dress code, and other departmental expectations in coordination with pharmacy leadership.
- Communicate important operational updates between shifts and with pharmacy leadership to ensure continuity.
- Assist the Floor Manager and Pharmacist in Charge with operational issues, staff needs, and special projects as necessary.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Pharmacist in Charge or pharmacy leadership.
- Active Ohio Pharmacy Technician license required.
- PTCB certification preferred.
- Previous pharmacy experience required; long-term care pharmacy experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory or lead pharmacy technician experience preferred.
- Previous data entry experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
