Description
The Operations Training Specialist reports to the Operations Director and is responsible for developing and delivering training programs focused on improving operational efficiency, patient care, and staff performance, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Performs orientation and training utilizing a standardized format to include workflow, systems utilized and use of the EHR system. Provides training to newly hired and current staff to maintain competence in the provision of patient care.
· Educates employees to use AthenaOne, AthenaDental, CRISP, i2i, Aledade and any additional resources available.
· Provides instruction to employees regarding vaccine storage, maintenance, inventory and use of the vaccine logs.
· Provides instruction for the use and maintenance of all equipment.
· Identify training needs for staff, including clinical, administrative, and operational roles, to improve efficiency and patient care.
· Identify opportunities for improvement in training programs and processes, implementing changes to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
· Design, develop, and deliver training materials and programs, including presentations, handouts, and online modules, as necessary for appropriate staff to include, providers, clinical support staff, dental staff, and patient access staff.
· Works on QA measure workflow implementation with the staff and does monthly training to ensure QA measures are being captured.
· Creates, implements and manages workflow process for clinical support staff, providers, Patient Access staff and Dental staff.
· EHR system administer
· Performs chart audits for Family Practice.
· Maintains the SDS manuals in the Family Practice Department, ensuring up to date information.
· Organizes annual employee flu clinics.
· Completes bi-annual proficiency testing.
· Collects, refreshes and stores QA logs.
· Maintains form and logs for the clinic.
· Reviews and assists departments in the update and maintaining of policies, procedures and protocols to ensure uniformity.
· Facilitate training sessions and workshops to ensure effective knowledge transfer and skill development.
· Provide ongoing support and guidance to staff on training-related matters, addressing questions and concerns in a timely manner
· All other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
· Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland with proof of education.
· Ability to relate to culturally diverse patients and community.
· BLS certification.
· Demonstrate proficiency in AthenaOne EHR, including clinical workflows, documentation templates, reporting functions, patient scheduling, order management, quality measures, and user training.
Experience:
· Minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a primary care, family practice, FQHC, or ambulatory care setting.
· Advanced AthenaOne knowledge with a minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience utilizing AthenaOne, including system administration functions, workflow design, reporting, troubleshooting, optimization, and staff training.
· Minimum of three (3) years of experience using AthenaOne in a clinical environment.
· At least two (2) years of experience training, onboarding, mentoring, or educating staff on EHR systems, clinical workflows, or operational process.
· Experience with quality improvement initiatives, chart auditing, workflow development, and regulatory compliance preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Clinical environment; Possibility of exposure to chemicals and infectious body fluids e.g., HPV, HIV, HEP C, HSV.
· May be asked to lift about 25 pounds.
· This position could require prolonged periods of sedentary, standing, and/or walking for more than (8) hours per day.
