Manufacturing Operations | Digital Transformation | OT/IT Enablement
ROLE PURPOSE
The Operations Digital Leader for Korea and Japan sites accelerates digital adoption and measurable value creation across manufacturing operations. Acting as the strategic bridge among Plant Operations, Engineering, Automation, and Digital Technology, this role develops and executes site digital roadmaps, enables secure and scalable Industry 4.0 capabilities, and ensures that digital solutions are adopted, sustained, and translated into improvements in safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and workforce effectiveness.
Key Accountabilities
Digital Strategy & Business Alignment
Develop and execute manufacturing digital roadmaps aligned with site objectives, business priorities, enterprise architecture, and operational value drivers.
Assess site digital maturity, identify capability gaps, and define a practical, sequenced transformation plan.
Translate operational challenges into prioritized digital opportunities, investment proposals, and measurable business outcomes.
Advise plant leadership on digital trends, capabilities, risks, and investment trade-offs.
Manufacturing Digital Enablement
Serve as the primary site leader and escalation point for manufacturing digital capabilities and services.
Drive deployment, integration, adoption, and sustainment of manufacturing technologies, including MES/MOM, ERP integrations, industrial data platforms, automation systems, connected worker solutions, analytics, and digital workflows.
Enable effective OT/IT convergence while promoting standardized, scalable, supportable, and cyber-resilient solutions.
Partner with enterprise and site teams to establish clear ownership and lifecycle management for deployed capabilities.
Portfolio Leadership & Value Realization
Identify, prioritize, and lead a portfolio of digital initiatives from concept and business case through implementation, stabilization, and benefit realization.
Coordinate cross-functional delivery across Operations, Engineering, Automation, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Application teams.
Establish success measures and report progress, adoption, service performance, benefits, risks, and return on investment.
Ensure successful transition from project delivery to sustainable operational ownership and support.
Data, Analytics & AI Enablement
Champion trusted manufacturing data and digital insights to improve operational decision making and performance.
Partner with data and analytics teams to enable real-time visibility, advanced analytics, predictive capabilities, and responsible AI applications.
Promote data quality, contextualization, governance, accessibility, and clear business ownership.
Help manufacturing users move from data availability to repeatable, value-generating decisions and actions.
Operational Excellence & Service Leadership
Drive timely resolution of digital, infrastructure, integration, and manufacturing systems issues that affect operations.
Partner with service providers and technical teams to strengthen reliability, resilience, support models, and continuous improvement.
Monitor service levels and operational health through meaningful KPIs and structured performance reviews.
Coordinate updates, lifecycle activities, technical debt reduction, and operational readiness with minimal production disruption.
Change Leadership & Workforce Enablement
Lead change management and adoption activities for digital capabilities and new ways of working.
Establish digital upskilling programs that build the confidence and capability of manufacturing personnel.
Engage frontline users in solution design, testing, deployment, feedback, and continuous improvement.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, disciplined experimentation, and data-driven decision making.
Cybersecurity, Governance & Risk
Embed cybersecurity, compliance, data protection, and risk management requirements into manufacturing digital initiatives.
Partner with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Engineering, and site teams to improve OT security and operational resilience.
Promote adherence to enterprise architecture, technology standards, governance processes, and regulatory obligations.
Identify and communicate technology, obsolescence, continuity, and implementation risks, with clear mitigation and escalation plans.

Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Manufacturing Technology, Automation, or a related discipline.
10+ years of relevant experience across manufacturing, digital transformation, operational technology, engineering, automation, or information technology, including leadership of complex initiatives.
Proven success delivering cross-functional, technology-enabled transformation in manufacturing environments.
Experience developing digital strategies and roadmaps, prioritizing investments, leading implementation, and tracking measurable value.
Experience with manufacturing technology ecosystems such as MES/MOM, ERP integrations, SCADA/HMI, historians or industrial data platforms, industrial automation, analytics, networking, cloud or edge solutions, and cybersecurity.
Leadership & Professional Capabilities
Strong manufacturing and business process understanding, with the ability to connect technology decisions to operational outcomes.
Strategic thinking combined with disciplined execution, portfolio management, and results orientation.
Ability to influence without direct authority and build alignment across plant, business, engineering, and technology stakeholders.
