About the Company

This is a growth-oriented private equity firm focused on lower-middle market investments in the business services, technology, specialty manufacturing, and distribution sectors, targeting companies with $2 to $15 million of EBITDA. The firm is affiliated with a sister private equity platform, and together the two firms manage approximately $1.8 billion in committed capital with investment teams across two U.S. offices.

About the Role

The firm is seeking candidates for a pre-MBA Associate position for the Summer of 2026. Associates will be involved in all aspects of the firm's business, from evaluating and executing platform and add-on investments to monitoring portfolio companies.

Key Responsibilities

Deal Execution

• Identify, source, and work on the structuring and execution of M&A transactions — both new investments and add-on acquisitions for portfolio companies
• Conduct new investment analysis, diligence, underwriting, and financing activities, including construction of complex financial models
• Participate in meetings with management teams, deal sources, and financing sources
• Participate in exit monetization processes (recaps, sale processes, etc.)

Portfolio Support

• Work with portfolio companies on strategic and financial initiatives, including development, tracking, and management of KPIs and other key measurements
• Monitor portfolio company performance post-investment

Qualifications

• Investment banking, accounting, consulting, transaction services, private credit, and/or private equity experience
• Excellent financial, modeling, and analytical skills
• Expertise in valuation, M&A-related modeling and analysis, and an understanding of leveraged transactions
• Very strong writing, communication, and presentation skills
• The interpersonal skills required to work face-to-face with deal teams, lenders, advisors, referral sources, and all other participants involved in managing portfolio companies and closing transactions
• Mature and professional candidate with a strong work ethic
• Strong organizational skills, desire to learn, and ability to multi-task
• Genuine desire to be an early contributor to an entrepreneurial and growing firm
• Very strong social skills with a high level of empathy

Salary

Salary is competitive, depending on experience.
