What You'll Do
- Inventory Strategy & Market Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive used vehicle inventory strategy aligned with market demand and dealership objectives.
- Manage all vehicle acquisition channels, including trade-ins, auctions, private-party purchases, and digital sourcing platforms.
- Continuously analyze live market data to optimize inventory mix, pricing strategy, and inventory turn.
- Maintain disciplined inventory levels while maximizing gross profit and return on investment.
- Lead aging inventory strategies through proactive pricing and merchandising decisions.
- Own the complete reconditioning process with a relentless focus on efficiency and accountability.
- Establish best-in-class Time-to-Line performance by eliminating operational bottlenecks.
- Ensure every vehicle progresses seamlessly from acquisition through inspection, reconditioning, merchandising, and frontline readiness.
- Partner closely with Fixed Operations to create predictable, efficient workflows that accelerate inventory availability.
- Ensure every vehicle is professionally merchandised and competitively positioned online immediately upon frontline readiness.
- Maintain exceptional standards for photography, descriptions, pricing accuracy, and digital presentation.
- Continuously evaluate online performance metrics to maximize vehicle visibility and conversion.
- Drive departmental profitability through disciplined inventory management, pricing strategy, and expense control.
- Monitor key performance indicators including inventory turn, days' supply, aging, gross profit, recon expense, and return on investment.
- Make informed, data-driven decisions that balance market competitiveness with long-term profitability.
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing sales organization through consistent training and accountability.
- Conduct ongoing coaching in vehicle presentation, walk-arounds, negotiation, appraisal fundamentals, and pencil proficiency.
- Foster a culture centered on ownership, urgency, professionalism, and continuous development.
- Hold individuals accountable through measurable expectations and consistent performance management.
